Staffworks Fund Donates $2,500 to R-CATS Program
The Staffworks Fund awarded the R-CATS Program $2,500 to fund costs to spay/neuter and vaccinate homeless cats in Rome, NY.
The R-CATS Program has seen its donations all but come to a complete stop this year due to COVID-19. This has put a huge strain on the small organization’s limited reserves and threatened its ability to continue its programs and services.
“We are committed to preventing pet homelessness, and by supporting R-CATS Programs spay/neuter efforts, we help address the problem of overpopulation,” said Anita A. Vitullo, Founder of the Staffworks Fund. “Providing spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations is a critical part of reducing the euthanasia of unadoptable community cats in Oneida County and in preventing the endless intake of unwanted animals into area shelters.”
“This donation is another example of the Staffworks Fund’s commitment to supporting R-CATS Program’s lifesaving mission,” said Allison Nickerson, R-CATS President. “We’re grateful for their support and commitment to improve the quality of life and reduce the number of community cats.”
Since 2018, the Staffworks Fund has donated $9,166 to the R-CATS Program. The Fund has given more than $2.3 million to non-profit organizations throughout our regional community that provide direct care and services for animals that have been abandoned, abused or have other needs.
