Thousands of companion animals occupy shelters across our region, often waiting months, if not years, before being adopted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Staffworks Fund is providing grants through its Homeward Bound Program to help animals move more quickly into their new homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grants, awarded to animal welfare organizations in CNY, help subsidize pet adoptions via waived or reduced adoption events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late May, the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Utica gave the Homeward Bound Program its first trial run. In total, 61 dogs and 69 cats were adopted in six weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
